Changes in the ferry schedule during Christmas and New year
The Färjerederiet introduce call tours for some departures during Christmas and New year. This means that one call i advance and notify that one wish to go with a certain tour.

Strategy documentet aproved
At the Municipality planning committee meeting yesterday the Stragey group presented the document to the leading politicians in the Municipality. At the meeting the committee also aproved the document. Next the dockument will be accepted by the Munciplaity Board. Later plans (area regulations) will be handled by the Municipality Council. Now we have a clear political statement that ther shall be an all-the-year-round society on Holmön. We can all be proud and happy that our never ending work has been successful a day like this.

Christmas raffle
During the shop business hours on Saturday 8 December Holmöns Red Cross section served kaffe och refreshments and held a raffle in favour of Worlds Children. Many villagers took the opportunity to by lottery tickets and socialize. At the top left we see Elise and Inger, who continuously lead the Red Cross activities on Holmön. At the top right are Kent, Lena, Peter, Börje och B-G, and to the right Pjodd och Gustaf.

We remind of Trafikverkets information meeting about the future communication to Holmön. The meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday 21 November at 17.00 at Holmöns school. Refreshmenst will be served. The ferry depart from Norrfjärden at 16.00. An extra ferry tour depart back to Norrfjärden after the meeting. All with interest for the communications to Holmön are urged to take the opportunity and participate in the meeting. Let us fill the ferry.

Weather in October
Several records have been beaten in October this year since the measurments started on Homön in october 2003. We have had 24 days with precipitation, of which 20 were consecutive days (1st - 20ies), which both are monthly records. Totally we got 144,8 mm precipitation during the month, which is record. Next most precipitation was in August 2007 with 141,3 mm.

Rocker arm light on Holmögadd
Holmögadds Intresseförening (Holmögadds Interest Association) has in an EU financed project built a copy of the first light on Holmögadd. Ander Wincent, representative for the association says: "Much is shut down and closed at our fine and unique Lighthouse places. We thought we do the opposit and develop and try to maintain the environment and show how it looked in the beginning of the light epoque." The association now has an own webpage at Holmönportal.

So finaly it occured
We have had the first day without rain since 26 September. Totally it was 24 days with together 169.3 mm precipitaion. It is more than 4 normal month when we get about 40 mm precipitation.

The ferry is once again taken out of traffic due to technical problems.  An other boat will maintain the traffic from saturday afternoon.

Weather record
A few days ago we had the annual record of 24-h precipitation (from 7.00 to 7.00)with 29.6 mm. This record was beaten during Tueday 7.00 - Wednesday 7.00 when we got 33.5 mm rain. This is the forth higest value since the weather station was moved to Holmön in October 2003. The higest value is from the morning 28 August 2007 when we got 88.5 mm. It was a heavy thunderstorm that circulated around Holmön with a power failur during the night 27-28. Next higest value was the morning 22 July 2008, also with a thunderstorm, when we got 53.5 mm. On 28 September 2006 we got 40.4 mm without thunderstorm. BUT this was single days. Now we have had rain since 26 September. We are now up over 150 mm rain during  22 consecutive days. This is a record both in the amount of precipitaiopn and consecutive days since October 2003. Will return with final values when we get the first day without rain.

 1. Transport of junk cars
This will be made during 2013 in conjuction with transport of a gravel crusing machine. Date will be announced later.

     Information from HUF: Collection of junk cars in Norrfjärden will be organized in conjuc-
     tion with this. Car owners with junk cars are urged to plan for this. More information
     will come when the date i set.. 

2.    Holmöns future means of transport
Comments from IS-gruppen, Länsstyrelsen, Umeå kommun and Region Västerbotten have been handed in. Trafikverket is processing all comments and the material from WSP to produce a suggestion for a proposed means of transport. Under November TV/Reg North will call Holmö-islanders and other intrested to a public meeting to give information.

The Parlament Information Department announced that the Traffic committee, which will handle this, will consider this. It is one of 124 petitions that will be considered during the period 8-29 November. On 13 December - as a Lucia present - something will be delivered, according to the plan.

This cat has been running around in the village, between Halla and Myren, since August and do not seem to have any place to go. It is a female cat that is big but thin. Information about the initiative Holmöns framtid (Holmöns Future)
 To investigate how many of residents on Holmön who are positive to a wind power park, we have started a name collection. We have written aa appeal called Holmöns framtid (Holmön Future).
All who are registered at Holmön will have the possibility to sign the appeal. If, as we hope, a large majority will sign the appeal, we will make the appeal official (without manes) and use it in contacts with politicans and public authorities in support for a wind power establishment on Holmön.

Jazz weekend and Fish buffet at Panget
During this weekend there is Jazz festival on Holmön! Read more at www.seajazz.se.
At Holmö Havsbad there will be Jazz performance both on Friday and Saturday evenings.
On Saturday betweem 17:00 - 20:00, there will be a Fish buffet with a variety of herrings, salmon, smoked shrimps etc for 249 SEK/person. Limited number of seats. Welcome to make reservations by phone 090-550 15.

New schedule for the ferry
From 18 August, there is a new schedule for the ferry. All afternoon tours have been changed to depart 30 min later. This means that the ferry will depart from  Norrfjärden at 16.00, from Holmön at 17.00, from Norrfjärden at 18.00 and from Holmön at 19.00. This is valid all days, i.e., also Saturdays and Sundays.
